If someone tells you that writing a novel is the hardest part of publishing a book, smile politely.

Then ask them one question.

What about the book cover?

You’ll probably see a strange look on their face.

I know that look.

Because I’ve been there.

I’ve written three novels.

When I finished the first one, I felt unstoppable.

Months of planning.

Hundreds of pages.

Countless cups of coffee.

The story was finally complete.

I honestly believed the hard part was over.

It wasn’t.

Not even close.

Now I needed a book cover.

Easy, right?

Not exactly.

Like many indie authors, I hired a professional book cover designer.

The designer was talented.

Patient.

Friendly.

In fact, if patience were an Olympic sport, they probably would have won the gold medal.

The problem wasn’t the designer.

The problem was me.

The first concept arrived.

I stared at it for several minutes before writing what may have been the least helpful design feedback in publishing history.

“Hmm… something’s missing.”

The designer replied,

“What exactly?”

Excellent question.

I had absolutely no idea.

The second version looked better.

The third looked different.

The fourth… also looked different.

Then I proudly sent one of the most useless design instructions ever written.

“Could you make it… more cinematic?”

What does that even mean?

I still don’t know.

Apparently, neither did the designer.

A few days later, I decided the title was too large.

The following morning, it suddenly looked too small.

By the weekend, I wanted everything moved slightly to the left.

Five minutes later…

No.

The right side looked much better.

Somewhere around the twenty-third email, I could no longer remember whether I was publishing a thriller…

or slowly driving an innocent designer insane.

Looking back, I finally understood what had happened.

Creating a custom book cover isn’t difficult because designers aren’t talented enough.

It’s difficult because every author already has the perfect cover in their imagination.

There’s just one small problem.

Nobody else can see it.

Sometimes…

not even the author.

After writing three novels, I discovered something that completely changed the process for me.

Premade Book Covers

Instead of trying to describe an invisible image living inside my head, I could simply browse professionally designed premade book covers.

And then…

it happens.

You see one.

Before your brain has time to analyze anything, one thought appears:

“That’s my book.”

No endless email chains.

No twenty-seven rounds of revisions.

No mysterious requests to make the title “a little more dramatic… but somehow less dramatic at the same time.”

Just choose the cover.

Replace the title.

Publish your book.

Start writing the next one.

Don’t get me wrong.

Custom book covers are wonderful, and talented designers create incredible work every single day.

But if you’re an indie author looking for a fast, professional, and stress-free solution, an exclusive premade book cover might be exactly what you need.

It certainly saved my sanity.
